As an application developer the candidate will be required to provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs for a Front office trading systems. The Candidate will need to perform design and development and support testing of the various modules or components which make up the Front Office Trading System. The candidate will need to work in a distributed team environment and provide support to the ongoing development as well. The candidate is expected to provide input to the design and provide input to the information and the data flow and to comply with the project life cycle methodology.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Application Developer to further develop their skills and gain exposure to a number of challenging projects across the business. This role will be suitable for an individual who:
• Is passionate about continually developing themselves and has a desire to pick up latest IT developments
• Ability to effectively manage time and deadlines
• Well developed communications skills both written and oral
• Experience in explaining technical issues and solutions to non-technical people
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of Applications Development experience
• Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills
• 2+ years of Object Oriented Analysis & Design
• 2+ years development experience in: Java 1.5/1.6, J2SE, Spring Framework, Mule 1.x and JavaScript
• 1-2+ years of development in any ESB system preferably in Mule 1.x and any JMS technology like MQ or Active MQ.
• 2+ years of experience in XML technologies and various parsers like JAXB or JiBX
• 2+ years of development in the Oracle including Stored procedures and in tuning SQL statements, writing indexes
• 2+ years of development with Hibernate/i-Batis
• Two years financial industry support experience. (Brokerage/banking is preferable)
• Unix experience and be able to write shell scripts or debug them
• Experience with Trading / compliance / portfolio management applications
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
• Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills. Takes personal initiative, conscientiousness and complete follow-through on the areas of responsibilities
Preferred requirements:
• Experience of multithreaded systems
• Experience with JMS, JUNIT, Maven
• Familiarity with design patterns
• Tuning Java applications and experience with running profilers and detecting and resolving various performance issues and memory leak issues
• Documentation – Code Unit Test, Integration Test Artifacts
• Continuous integration methodology and Cruise Control a big plus
• 2+ experience with Tomcat and JSP and Oracle server Pages.
• Experience with successful implementations of highly scalable and highly available systems in a multi-tier environment.
• Murex experience or Sun guard or Van Guard experience is a big plus
Eligibility : Total experience between 2— 6 Years
Qualification : BE/B.Tech/MCA/BCA/ MSc(PCM)/ BSc(PCM)/MBA/PGDBA
